Union Health is partnering with IU Lifeline who will be assisting with neonatal and maternal transports to Union Health from outlying hospitals.

Union Hospital is the area’s leader in treating high-risk pregnancy patients. The 24/7 availability of anesthesiologists, critical care RNs, OB hospitalists, registered respiratory therapists, neonatologists, and, if necessary, an advanced practice neonatal provider (NNP) at Union Hospital - as well as advanced certification - means that we are prepared for even the most serious of pregnancy and neonatal complications.

Union Hospital's 15-bed NICU is the largest and provides the most advanced care within a 70-mile radius. Our NICU's state-of-the-art equipment is specially designed to care for critically ill and premature infants.

  • Demonstrated experience in providing comprehensive neonatal intensive care to infants of all gestation, including those born at less than 32 weeks and weighing less than 1500 grams (3.3 lbs) at birth.
  • Advanced respiratory support, including high-frequency ventilation
  • Sustained neonatal life support for infants born extremely premature and those with severe complications.
  • Ability to care for maternal patients with complex obstetric, medical, and fetal conditions.

IU Lifeline will be utilized for transport ONLY, as patients will be transferred to Union Health.

To initiate a neonatal transport, call 812.238.7360
To initiate a maternal transport, call 812.238.7893
