Amy James, MD is a board-certified family medicine physician with 20 years of experience providing comprehensive, whole-family care to patients in the Marshall, Illinois community. Her clinical interests include preventive care, women's health, geriatrics, and pediatrics, and she treats a wide range of conditions including diabetes, hypertension, obesity, depression, and anxiety. She also performs procedures such as skin lesion removal, IUD insertion and removal, laceration repair, and joint injections.

Dr. James earned her medical degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Rockford and completed her residency training through the Spartanburg Regional Family Medicine Residency Program in South Carolina. Following her residency, she returned to Illinois in 2006 to begin practicing in Marshall, where she has served patients throughout her career. She is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine.

In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. James serves on the clinical faculty of both the University of Illinois College of Medicine and Indiana University School of Medicine. She is also a member of the Rural Medicine Education Recruitment and Retention Committee for the University of Illinois College of Medicine and is passionate about mentoring future physicians and encouraging careers in rural medicine.

Dr. James believes in a collaborative approach to healthcare, working closely with patients to ensure they have the information needed to make informed decisions about their health. She values the lifelong relationships she builds with patients and their families and enjoys caring for multiple generations over the course of her career.
