Union Hospital offers a 24-hour OB Emergency Department (OBED). Our 9-bed OBED is staffed with Board Certified OB/GYNs 365 days a year and provides a dedicated space to provide care for pregnancy-related emergencies and to diagnose labor.

Conditions commonly treated in the OBED include:
- diagnose labor
- abnormal vaginal bleeding
- complications associated with high-risk pregnancy
- decreased fetal movement
- increased blood pressure
- preterm labor
- ruptured membranes
The OBED’s location ensures quick access to surgical care for the most serious pregnancy-related emergencies – and 24/7 availability of anesthesiologists, OB hospitalists, and neonatologists at Union Hospital means that the most serious of pregnancy complications can be addressed quickly.
