Union Health Foundation is excited to announce it’s receiving a $10,000 sponsorship from Duke Energy to bolster essential health screenings to Vermillion County businesses through Union Hospital Clinton. This generous support will enhance the hospital's resources and continue its mission of providing exceptional health care services to the Vermillion County community.
The Pulse Program, which focuses on promoting health and wellness across our community, will greatly benefit from Duke Energy's support. The Pulse Program aims to provide essential screenings and vital education to participants, focusing on early identification and risk assessment for heart attack and stroke. Each participant in the program receives:
- Comprehensive heart and stroke risk screening
- Personalized education on heart health and stroke prevention
- Immediate linkages to care and follow-up resources
Duke Energy’s Indiana Vice President for Community Relations, Marvin Blade, expressed enthusiasm about the sponsorship, stating, “At Duke Energy, we believe that healthy communities are vital to a thriving economy. Our partnership with Union Health Foundation and Union Hospital Clinton demonstrates our commitment to supporting local initiatives that promote health and well-being. We are excited to see the positive impact this support will have on the Pulse Program and the residents of Vermillion County.”
Stephanie Laws, Vice President and Administrator of Union Hospital Clinton, also commented on the sponsorship’s importance.
“We are incredibly grateful to Duke Energy for their generous support. Vermillion County faces significant health challenges, ranking number one in Indiana for heart disease mortality and number two for stroke mortality. The Pulse Program is designed to address these alarming statistics by promoting early detection and intervention, ultimately reducing mortality rates and improving community health outcomes. The funding will play a crucial role in providing health screening, allowing us to reach even more individuals in need of care. Together, we can build a healthier community.”
Becky Miller, President of the Union Health Foundation, added, “This sponsorship is a testament to the collaborative spirit in our community. We appreciate Duke Energy’s investment in our health initiatives, and we look forward to working together to ensure the Pulse Program continues to thrive and deliver valuable services to those we serve.”
