The Pediatrics unit features 15 spacious private rooms. Each room is decorated with a theme based on a child-friendly television show or movie character including Cars, Dora the Explorer, Finding Nemo, Toy Story, Cinderella and many more. Each room is equipped with a TV and DVD player, and there are several DVD movies that can be viewed while the child is a patient.

Hugs Security

The Pediatric Unit is a locked unit. Visitors ring a buzzer and a camera allows staff to see who is requesting entry. Children in the Pediatric Unit are also protected by the HUGS security system, an advanced electronic system for helping prevent child abduction.

To Make our Patients More Comfortable

Puppy pillows, made by volunteers, are available to all pediatric patients. Handmade blankets/quilts, also made by volunteers, are available for those in need, to help make the child’s stay more comforting. Therapy dogs visit the unit weekly to see age-appropriate children.

During their stay, a food tray is supplied without charge for one parent each mealtime. This allows nourishment for the parent without having to leave the child unattended. There is also a soda machine inside the unit doors and a coffee machine in the waiting room by the elevators for visitors.

The Pediatric Unit is staffed by highly-skilled, professional registered nurses who LOVE children.
