Pilates is a discipline developed in the early 1900s by Joseph H. Pilates. The various Pilates exercises can be done on a mat or specially designed equipment. Pilates focuses on strength, flexibility, muscular endurance, coordination, balance, and good posture while giving the participant a lower impact workout.
