Bonding with Baby

Time to Fall in Love

Here at Union Health, we know that mother-baby bonding during the first 48 hours of your baby’s life impacts their well-being long after you’ve left the hospital. That’s why we set aside time together — so you can learn to understand and comfort your little miracle in the ways only you can. It’s how we support you in giving your baby the best possible start. After all, we’re healthier together.

At Union Hospital, we work to ensure an optimal environment for infants and support bonding between mothers and infants. Integration of such practices as a golden hour immediately after birth to help stabilize the infant’s heart and respiratory rates, frequent skin-to-skin contact to nurture emotional attachment of baby to mother, and lactation (breast-feeding) support from a board-certified lactation consultant help familiarize mom with her new baby, build confidence in identifying feeding cues, and lessen post-discharge anxiety about caring for the new infant.

Healthier, together.
