Human Milk Saves Lives.
For some, mother’s milk is a gift like no other. If there is a time when supplementation is needed, human donor milk can help.
When Mother’s Own Milk (MOM) is not available, The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), along with the World Health Organization (WHO), continue to emphasize the use of safe Pasteurized Donor Human Milk (PDHM) for its benefits to both individual infants and public health.
Union Health is proud to announce a collaboration with
The Milk Bank. Bringing access to safe Human Donor Milk for infants across the Wabash Valley as well as a convenient donation process for mothers who are able to help.
Milk Depots
A Milk Depot is a conveniently located collection site for approved human milk donors. Area donors that have been approved by The Milk Bank can drop off their excess breastmilk at the Depot. These donations are collected and sent to The Milk Bank where they will be bottled, pasteurized, and tested for sterility by an independent lab before being dispensed to an ordering hospital or to an outpatient with a physician’s prescription.
Don't see a depot near you? Contact the donor team at 317-536-1670 to discuss free shipping options.
Donor Milk Express
The Milk Bank’s Donor Milk Express program has the unique ability to provide families in our communities with a readily available source of pasteurized donor human milk (PDHM). Quick access to PDHM allows parents of healthy newborns to supplement with human milk instead of formula, providing babies with a healthy start and parents with peace of mind. Donor Milk Express is available to help bridge the gap between leaving the hospital and a successful breastfeeding routine.
To obtain PDHM please complete the Donor Milk Express Recipient Form using the link below. After completing the form you will be routed to a payment screen where you will prepay for the PDHM you are purchasing.
